There are four main neighborhoods or areas in Sayulita: North End and Nanzal, Central, South End and Gringo Hill. These neighborhoods are outlined below.

  • North End and Nanzal – Located at the north end of Sayulita Bay, most homes in these neighborhoods have been built in the last 10 years. It is generally a 15+ minute walk to Sayulita’s main beach and town center and a car is recommended, especially in Nanzal. These neighborhoods provide some beautiful views and sunsets but they are particularly hot in warmer season as they get sun all day.
  • Central – This neighborhood includes the town center. You can easily walk to stores, restaurants, shops and the beach. If you like being in the center of the action, this is the neighborhood for you. Generally there are no ocean views from properties in this neighborhood.
  • South End – Located on the south end of Sayulita Bay, this neighborhood offers some great views and while it is not the center of town, you might be able to walk to stores, restaurants, shops and the beach generally within 10-15+ minutes (although some areas you will need a car to get to town). All Dreamer Circle properties are located at the north end of this neighborhood putting them just a block from the center of town. This part of the neighborhood is on a small hill overlooking the ocean and Nayarit Coastline with spectacular ocean views and less than a 5 minute walk to the main beach and town plaza. No cars are needed when staying here. This was the first area developed by expats over 50 years ago.
  • Gringo Hill – This neighborhood is located on the hill overlooking Sayulita and the plaza, with distant ocean views. It was originally developed by foreigners in the 1990’s. It extends above the plaza and depending where you stay, it is generally a 10+ minute walk to the beach and the hill can be steep. A car is recommended if you are staying in the upper part of this neighborhood.
