This is our fourth trip to Sayulita, but this time my husband and I returned with all of his immediate family to celebrate my father-in-law’s 80th birthday. We rented both Casa Sonadora and Villa Collina. We put the two families with young children in Casa Sonadora because it had the bigger and more comfortable dining and living room space, and that way all 16 of us could hang out there at night after we put the little kids to bed.
Casa Sonadora is by far the nicest place I’ve ever stayed in Sayulita– it’s brand new, really well constructed, super comfy beds, sheets, etc., everything worked beautifully and the house itself is big and spacious and gorgeous. Each couple took a master’s suite, and we divided the 6 kids into the other two rooms and they were happy as clams. The pool was a HUGE hit– it’s unusual to have a heated pool in Sayulita, and the kids spent almost every hour that they weren’t in the waves in the pool, and that made our life easy and pleasant. We had one three year old non-swimmer, and he simply wore his life jacket whenever he was outside, and that put us all at ease. It also helped to sit down the first day and lay down some house rules with the kids (regarding the balconies, roof, etc.).
The views are great, and it’s really centrally located. Easy to walk down to town and the beach. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

We had a fantastic week in Sayulita! The town is lovely and the location of Casa Paloma could not be more ideal. It is situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. While this may be difficult for older or disabled residents, there is a golf cart available which makes access a breeze. The home itself is lovely offering loads of privacy and beautiful porches from which to view the town and beach. The roof top patio is spectacular! We had a group of 5 couples and one child. The house easily accommodated all of us. The kitchens were well-stocked, the bedrooms were beautiful with lovely private bathrooms, and the eating facilities made it easy to have breakfast or dinner at home. Don’t think twice about booking this lovely property!

We loved staying at Casa Paloma. We had our entire wedding party staying at the house. It was also a great spot to have people over. We had 2 BBQs with about 20 people each. The location was perfect. I liked being right by the beach and also near town. I liked that we were not so close to town that it was loud. The top palapa was gorgeous. Our photographer said it was the most beautiful place she had taken getting ready photos before. We ended up doing most of our pre-wedding photos at the house which was great. The staff was very helpful and easily accessible. I would highly recommend the house!

Our extended family just returned home from Casa Paloma. We had 6 adults and 4 children aged 2,3,4 and 6. The entire rental process from start to finish was handled promptly and professionally. We utilized the recommendations for transportation from and to the airport and were very happy with this service as well. The pictures DO NOT do this magnificent home justice. It is stunningly beautiful and we felt at home right away. Our children were taught the rules right at the get go and adjusted to the open air concept of the second floor with no issues. Dora prepared a wonderful meal for us and we frequented a number of restaurants (all amazing though Don Pedro’s was a little too pricey and North American like) for our taste. The golf cart rental made everything simple with bringing back heavy groceries and carting the little ones to and fro. Our kids called it the kid car. As mentioned, the noise in the evenings was quite loud some nights but the Casita and back bedrooms were most affected and we had the kids in those rooms. The pool is perfect for families with small children (ours are 2,3,4 and 6) and it was hard to get them out of it, though in the winter months I would recommend heating very early mornings to accommodate the early risers we had in our group. Ernesto (PM) was great and helped us whenever we needed it as was Santos – another staff member at the house. I would recommend this house to anyone but be prepared for the openess of it (which I loved!!!) and definitely go into town (it is a couple of blocks at most) often as Sayulita is now officially our favorite destination to Mexico and we have been to many!!!

Manager response: Thanks so much Jennifer for your glowing review. I did want to mention something about the noise. A group of us have been working with the local and state municipalities, police and tourist board for a long time to seriously deal with the music noise levels at night. They are finally fully monitoring it now and I can very happily state, it seems to be finally resolved. My wife and I have been in Casa Paloma for a week now (staying in the casita) and have slept with the windows open every night. And we are again enjoying the wonderful sound of the ocean. A very pleasant change!

We just returned from 8 days at beautiful Casa Paloma. We were 11 people, which included 4 kids, ages 3-5 years old. The house is designed so that we were all comfortable and had our private spaces. Also, the house really works fine for small children as long as they are kept off the roof top deck and supervised. The kids quickly learned the limits of the house.
The views are spectacular and the outdoor areas inviting. We spent most of our days at the beach and did not utilize the pool very much, as we thought it was a bit cold. The gardens are serene and beautifully maintained.
The decor is tasteful with authentic Mexican art, furniture and tile. The beds are comfy and the kitchens adequate. We all loved the outdoor shower by the pool! We had most of our meals prepared by a chef but also enjoyed the many restaurants in town and on the beach. Ernesto, the property manager, was readily available for questions and assistance when needed. Dora and her staff took incredible care of the house and thankfully cleaned it on a daily basis.
The only downsize was the loud rock music blaring late into the wee hours on a couple of nights. We were only impacted about 3 out of the 8 nights so it wasn’t too bad. You could close the doors to minimize the sound but we love the sound of the waves and the feel of the warm tropical air at night. Maybe it is the trade off for the great location. My family would say it is worth it! My husband and I stayed in the Casita which seemed to be most affected.
The path to the beach is charming, the neighborhood attractive and safe, and the house beautiful and accommodating. We love the beach, the restaurants and shops in Sayulita and, especially, the people. Kathleen, with whom I communicated about the property, was efficient, helpful and made the entire reservation process a breeze. We will definitely return to Sayulita and, if as a large group, stay at Casa Paloma.

Overlooking the beach, this incredibly beautiful house enjoys warm breezes which can be enjoyed from four decks. The house is furnished with colorful Mexican art, and filled with color, photos can’t really do justice to it. Very helpful staff.
We had a family reunion in town, and scattered our large family groups through several houses. This one was by far the most beautiful. Also, very spacious, easily accommodating six adults and three children.

I have been to Mexico at least two dozen times, and my wife and I have rented many properties around the world , and your house is one of the most beautiful property in which we stayed.
All of us have really enjoyed our stay at Casa Paloma. We have particularly enjoyed the quiet and laid back atmosphere of Sayulita, the kindness of the people as well as the amenities, comfort and location of the house. It was a PERFECT setting to celebrate the Dia del Muertos with our friends, and embrace the Sayulita Life.
On behalf of all of us, I would also like to commend Ernesto for his availability and responsiveness. His advice and help have certainly been a great factor in the quality of our stay. He is a wonderful and dedicated manager.
This was a truly relaxing and wonderful vacation for all of us, and we will highly recommend this property to relatives and friends. Casa Paloma far exceeded our expectations.
Thank you again for allowing us to use your property and for making our stay in Sayulita memorable and pleasurable. We will certainly be back.

Without hesitation, I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation. The staff was very attentive and took care of all our needs. Ernesto, the property manager, was always available to us for any reason. We felt very well taken care of. Dora cooked us a delicious meal our first night there. The house was perfect. Comfortable, well maintained and the perfect Sayulita location. My family, feeling sad our week was too quickly over, decided we would go back two times a year from now on.

We were 2 families (4 adults and 4 kids ages 1-4) who spent 4 days in Sayulita over labor day weekend. You cant go wrong with Casa Sonadora – excellent pool, well kept manicured lawns, clean rooms, excellent logistics (both Dennis and Eric on-site)… Rooms/amenities/appliances everything set up and up to date…. great sound system/AV equipment throughout the house to keep kids entertained when they were not in the pool! Cannot find any negatives…. great location to town plaza, beach and restaurants…. View was spectacular from all the levels of the house….

We had a group of 10 friends that hired the villa and we had the most wonderful time. The staff were fantastic, with the rooms and villa being beautifully made up each day and we thoroughly enjoyed the night the ladies cooked for us, the food was delicious and it was great to be able to watch them cook in the kitchen.
The villa itself is stunning, we very much appreciated the individual art and the effort that has gone into making it such a lovely place to stay. Such a great view of the ocean and a 2 minute walk down the hill into town and the beach, made the location just perfect.
The booking process from start to finish was also very easy, and responses to queries arrived very quickly.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Casa Palmoa time and again.
Thank you.

When looking for place to stay in Sayulita, I investigated many nice looking homes and read lots of reviews. Everything about Casa Paloma looked too good to be true. All I can say is that it is as amazing as the previous reviews indicated. The photos and videos show you a beautiful home, but once you arrive, you will know that it is more exceptional than that. The home has amazing attention to detail and beautiful, unique artwork everywhere. The views and ocean breezes could not have been better. How wonderful to have relaxing massages on the rooftop palapa and then a special dinner made for us by Dora and Anna. We rented the entire house as we were in Sayulita for our daughter’s wedding and had lots of family and friends around. There are many comfortable private spaces and areas that everyone can gather and enjoy their time together. The salt water pool was warm and inviting, the bedrooms and baths were very comfortable and well appointed. I wish I could have just ignored technology completely, but I didn’t and the wireless worked great. The proximity to town and the beach was as easy as walking down the beautiful path or taking the golf cart for a short trip. We had a chance to meet Dennis and Joan and look at their other houses. I would come down to stay at any one of them. They love their homes and want to be sure everything is going well for whoever is renting them. Ernesto, the property manager provided us with good information and rescued us after we had left some important items in the house. MUCHAS GRACIAS A TODOS!

If you are looking for a gorgeous home, in a very convenient location (5 minutes to beach; 5 minutes to the Plaza), with a very attentive and wonderful staff (many thanks to Yvonne (property manager extraordinaire), Dora and her staff (who kept the house spotless and who is a great cook – Dora cooked 2 meals for us and they were great), and Thorne (Yvonne’s husband/real estate agent who tirelessly showed us homes after we’d fallen in love with Sayulita & wanted to move there), then book Casa Paloma immediately. Each and every one of our group of 10 (including 6 teenagers) LOVED it! We will, without question, be back. Thanks very much to the Duffs, Dora & staff, Yvonne & Thorne!!

Our family of 5 adults and 5 children enjoyed Casa Paloma for a week. The house provided everything we needed in a gorgeous setting on a hilltop overlooking Sayulita’s great surfing beach, which was a short walk down a garden path to a street leading right to the beach. The staff of housekeepers and cooks couldn’t have been more accommodating. They were always friendly and cheerful, the food was terrific and the housekeeping was perfect. Every room contained excellent paintings, sculpture and crafts. This was an ideal place for the three generations of our family to relax and enjoy ourselves.
The listing was accurate, but Casa Paloma is much better in person! The property manager went out of his way to help us with booking activities like ziplining, boat tour, Spanish class, etc. This property is highly recommended.

We stayed at Casa Paloma this past Jan and we had a wonderful time there. When you first walk up the stairs and see that view it literally takes your breath away! Pics don’t do it justice. We loved the openness of the homes main areas yet private rooms. One night we had Maria actually cook us a full feast at the house and it ended up being one of our favorite nights!
Totally worth it if you have a group of people! We at local food and got to sample many different dishes and ate like kings while listening to relaxing music, drinking our wine and admiring the view. It is so nice how close it is to town and the beach as well. We didn’t mind walking into town because it was pretty much the only exercise we got all day! This is NOT a home for small children. This doesn’t have the safety railing for babies or any American safety standards, hello it IS MEXICO after all! 🙂 It IS perfect for older kids on up to adults wanting a relaxing getaway with friends. Beautiful…….

Manager response: Thanks for your review – so glad you had such a great time. Just wanted to say that we have had numerous families with small children stay at Casa Paloma – including our whole family with grand kids who are currently 5, 6 and 7. We have all enjoyed this house with them since they were infants. You do have to keep a close watch on the younger ones and not take them to the rooftop. I suspect every parent would understand this.

Terrific accommodations and location. We had 3 families with children (3 children under age 4) and each family basically had there own living area. Property is exactly as advertised. Stunning views with a 3 min. walk to the beach and town. Note: You’re close to town so be prepared for a little lively noise on weekends–the locals like to celebrate on Friday and Saturday evenings. Our cook “Ana” who prepared sumptuous meals for breakfast and dinner was unbelievable. Property was super clean and obviously well maintained. Although we had a few problems with the pool heater and TV, the owner was very responsive and accommodating. The town has lots of local flair and you really do feel like your in authentic Mexico and not some place like Cabo which feels and behaves like LA. We’ve already recommended the property to other friends and would stay in this property again.

Casa Paloma is a beautiful home with a fantastic view of the ocean and surf. We really enjoyed the beautiful yard and loved the pool. We recently returned from a delightful week at Casa Paloma. The house is perfectly situated close (but above) the town, fabulously laid out, unbelievable verandas on every floor, beautiful Mexican art, delightful bedrooms, even two and a half kitchens! Beautiful views of the ocean, wonderful staff, Dora made our group of 6 adults and two toddlers three wonderful meals. We used both the first and second floor kitchens, ate outdoors all meals, loved the whole feeling of the house, how it is laid out. We don’t suggest visiting during Easter weekend, as the entire beach and town are overloaded with Mexicans visiting from all surrounding areas, impossible to get a spot on the beach in the afternoon, evening. However, our own pool was perfect for the whole family. Dennis and his staff could not be more helpful, more accommodating, they are delightful people to work with.

Casa Paloma is an excellent home. We were 6 adults traveling with 4 toddlers, and stayed there comfortably. The location is perfect, the views are amazing, and the house well decorated. The pool is heated! That is hard to find in Sayulita, and in February the pool water is otherwise cold. The pool is not independently fenced off, so it’s safer for small children to stay upstairs (there is a gate that separates those living spaces from the outside, and therefore the pool). If children are downstairs, a door left open leads to the pool area, so you will need to be much more vigilant. Our only regret was lack of access to washer/dryer, but the staff were kind enough to do some of our laundry (a big help with little kids). The owners were complete professionals. Definitely plan to return here!

This is such an exceptional property, with every amenity you could want, and the magnificent view of the coastline is unsurpassed. From the hospitality of the staff, the grandeur and comfort of the house with gorgeous art everywhere, to the perfect ocean view pool with lovely landscaped gardens, it all made our trip to Sayulita unforgettable. We have been coming to Sayulita for over 5 years and finally found the vacation property we’ve been seeking. It is Casa Paloma, and as great as the photos look on the website, nothing prepares you for the overwhelming beauty and expanse of this enchanting home and its jaw dropping views. This house is also in the best neighborhood in Sayulita. You are steps away from the beach and plaza, which are accessed via a lovely path through a tropical garden. The house is beautifully decorated with attractive art throughout and attention to detail is amazing. The warmth and friendliness of the staff and the pleasure our kids enjoyed in the pool, really made our vacation a real joy. Everyone in our group loved every minute of our stay and we never wanted to leave. Can’t wait til next year!

Well … this is the first case where the place was better in real life than in the video!!! No kidding! Talk about Exceptional Property, Awesome Location! I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was when we all arrived. Sooooo clean, wonderful interior decor, wonderful manager and cleaning lady, close to town, close to the beach, and everything you need was at the Casa. Spent evenings on the patio singing songs, swimming in the pool, eating, drinking, watching the wonderful lightening show in the sky, and … there are fireflies in Sayulita! I couldn’t believe it when I saw them! I was a child when I last saw them in Japan. And … I can’t forget Luna, the cat, that hung out with us at the Casa. 🙂 I am definitely going back!

We can’t wait to get back to Mexico … Sayulita and especially Casa Paloma! The first thing we noticed about Sayulita is how safe and friendly it feels. Kids are playing in the town square. People will not only give you directions, they’ll walk you half way there to make sure you’re on the right track! First off – Casa Paloma is simply amazing; it’s the most beautifully architectured house in town AND at the top of the most perfectly situated hill in town. The 360% panorama of ocean, beach, town-center and pueblo neighborhood make you”mayor of Sayulita for a week!”. It’s a 2 minute walk to beach, shopping and dining yet a comfortable distance from the din of the Sayulita life. The Pacific Ocean is Casa Paloma’s back yard; there is the constant sound of surf and a cool breeze flowing up the hill from the better-than-the-pictures” ocean vista. The waves below the property are perfect for first timers, rent a board for $5 and cowabunga! Probably every restaurant in town is worth writing about. But the best food we had was at Casa Paloma! In fact you don’t even need to leave the house if you don’t want to. Stock the fridge from the Mini-super 2 blocks away, buy loads of fresh fruits and veggies from the trucks that cruise the neighborhoods like ice-cream vendors (the house stocks iodine wash so with a 15 min’ soak you can feel safe about consuming produce.) House-keeper Dora’s tamales are not to be missed! And really we found no restaurant to match the views from Casa Paloma. The open architecture makes you feel like you are outside even though you are safely under the shade and rain cover of verandas. The decor is stunning, every corner alive with the best of local art; inlaid sea shell mosaics decorate the bathrooms. With the heated pool and plush lawn chairs, some days you never even make it to the beach! Our room was perfect, nice wide screen TV and large comfy bed. Our friends rooms were equally and uniquely magnificent. Will we return? Most definitely!

Casa Paloma is a dream property that has so much to offer. When you walk up the steps, face the surf and breathe in the moist air, your body immediately relaxes. Everywhere you look, inside and out, you experience beauty – and you feel a sense of harmony unlike any I have experienced in Sayulita. When I discovered the palapa roof terrace I realized this is the perfect place to mediate and do yoga. I even invited a masseuse to give me a massage there. It was perfect. We have stayed in many homes throughout Mexico and Casa Paloma has the most fully equipped kitchen I have found. We certainly share the owners appreciation of Mexican art and the way it is combined with modern conveniences. Our entire family from grandkids to grandparents loved every minute of our time here. If you are looking for that special Sayulita dream vacation, this is a great place to start. Many thanks to the owners and a special thank you to Dora and Maru who made our stay so comfortable and memorable. We will be back!

Thank you, Dennis and Joan, for creating Casa Paloma. What an amazing place! Such artistic and natural beauty, refined elegance, comfort, spaciousness, and unbelievably gorgeous views from all vantage points! You truly have a talent for creating a well-considered totally pleasing vacation environment, both inside and out. We so easily dropped out of our hectic lives and felt nurtured, uplifted, and rejuvenated. Casa Paloma is so grand and relaxing we felt like we didn’t even need to go anywhere else to enjoy a fantastic vacation! And yet the quaint little town of Sayulita and its expansive beaches were so enjoyable that we left “our nest” at least once a day to go exploring. Especially enjoyable is the convenience of being able to walk easily everywhere. What a discovery your Casa Paloma and Sayulita are! We found so many glowing reviews of your place on the VRBO site, we just had to come…..we are totally happy we did…..and look forward to returning as often as we can!

Wow! What a vacation! We just returned from a week at Casa Paloma with every day surpassing the one before it. We were there with 6 of our best friends and a better time and place could not have been found. Everything surpassed our highest expectations. My wife and I stayed in one of the elegant master bedroom suites. We felt like we were on another honeymoon (we’re both in our 60’s!). The artwork, the gardens, the amenities, the palapa terrace on top, the beautiful swimming pool – and the closeness to everything “Sayulita” simply could not be beat. The owners seemed to have thought of everything we might want: excellent books, quality and recent dvd’s (we watched The Fighter during our visit), CD’s to listen to, friendly help that were there every day to answer our every want. No detail for supporting our enjoyment and relaxation was left out. We can’t wait to return for another stay in “paradise”.

Just got home from 7 unbelievably, beautiful nights in one of the most magnificent places on earth! Since our one day visit in 2008, I have been dying to spend a week in Sayulita! We rented the enire house for our group of 8 and it was PERFECT! Each bedroom is so comfortable and has its own bath, the living areas are huge, the furniture is big and comfy, there are t.v.’s (as if you would need one), lots of books, the views are incredible…..when they say 360, it is literal! You can see the enitre beach and the entire town! Everything in town is really, less than 2 blocks away! The owners are spot on with quick responses and answers to every question! The property manager, was there to meet us and had the house open and ready to greet us! Everyday, the housekeeper came and made our beds and tidied the house! I would go again, again, again and again! Have no doubts about the value and quality of this listing! It is all of that and so much more!! If only I could be swinging in that hammock right now!! Thank you, Dennis and Joan, for a vacation our family will never forget!!

We stayed at Casa Paloma in November 2010. Our intimate wedding was held on the rooftop terrace palapa and the reception was on the main level terrace overlooking the Pacific. Not only was it the most amazing setting for a wedding we also enjoyed a fantastic week of relaxation there with our family. The house does not disappoint; the location you can’t beat, the hillside provides a buffer from the lively town but still close enough to walk to and from the beach or town for dinner. The layout is perfect for multiple families or couples, enough privacy and space for everyone. The gardens are immaculate and pool the perfect temperature. We were worried the pool would be too cold but it was wonderful. We also enjoyed the golf cart and were able run into town for groceries or to the liquor store. If you come with a family …babies etc…don’t worry the house can totally accommodate with playpen, portable sun umbrella etc. even a floating water pad for the baby in the pool. The beds were comfy and we had hot water every day; not to mention filtered water out of the tap. Staff were super, and helped with all our needs. Everything is within walking distance so you really do not need a car; unless you plan to travel out of town. San Pancho is only a 10 minute bus ride away. Mosquitoes seemed to steer clear of this property maybe because of the nice soothing ocean breeze. We used the transportation listed by the owner and they treated us exceptionally well, arrived with cold drinks and made stops at the Mega store as well. Honestly we could not have picked a better spot, we were treated to fireworks on more than 1 occasion from weddings at Don Pedros and it seemed anywhere at the house you could watch them. The artwork in the home was icing on the cake we were so impressed by the paintings we located the artist along the river in San Pancho and bought our own to take home. Our only wish is that we could have stayed longer, just a few more nights on the hammock or lounging by the pool drinking yet another Margarita.
